Virtual Conventions
The global COVID-19 pandemic prevents travel but it could be a great opportunity for game and other fandom conventions. Since a virtual option is now available, smaller conventions can attract a wider audience and even combine in ways not possible in real space. A small, all Greyhawk Reborn convention in central Pennsylvania could combine with a wargame convention in Ohio and a GURPS gathering in Louisiana. This would make the combined convention be comparable to larger regional shows. It also removes the challenge of having to choose between the three. If they further combine with one in California, Hawaii, or Sidney, Australia, they could have 24-hour gaming. This is one of the advantages of an internet-linked world. I hope the convention circuit is looking at this and considering it.
